The Church has three sacraments of initiation, and they are: baptism, Eucharist, and confirmation. With the sacrament of Confirmation, the baptized are more bound to the Church and are enriched with a special strength of the Holy Spirit. Confirmaciones Domingos is a sacramental group with the purpose of giving the catechumens, which is a person being prepared to receive a sacrament, the sacrament of confirmation. The mission statement of Confirmaciones Domingos is based on the Catechism of the Catholic Church and it says, “Preparation for Confirmation should aim at leading the Christian toward a more intimate union with Christ and a more lively familiarity with the Holy Spirit - his actions, his gifts, and his biddings - in order to be …show more content…
The catechumens are divided into groups of twelve or more, and they are assigned three or more pastors. There are sixteen groups and each “sinequ” is assigned to three or more groups. The general coordinators, coordinate each and every one of the pastors to have balance and order, they are the ones in charge of every movement that takes place in Confis. There are many different activities, events, and meetings that take place in this sacramental group, in which the pastors have to be present. However, pastors are being less and less involved in the group, and they are being less interest in their responsibilities. Since the beginning pastors knew about the commitment they were doing with Confis, but are they fully committed? Pastors are not involved in services, meetings, or even going to the course on Sundays. From sixty-two pastors only about forty attend to the course, “comunidad”, meetings, services, and important events. From four pastors that are in a group, only two or three are fully dedicated into teaching catechism to the catechumens. Not only their presence is needed, but their full commitment by wanting to help and form their catechumens faith. The cause of this absence in the obligation of pastors can be traced all the way back to the general pastors. The commanders and the ones that are in charge of every single pastor are lacking leadership skills and strict confrontation with the pastors. Along with the causes
