There should be one riser for each leg of the supporting structure, in case of a three-phase breaker, and two risers for each structure, in case of a one-phase breaker. In addition to this, there must be a separate riser for the circuit breaker's control box. Between the earthing wire and steel structure there should be kind of an insulation to prevent them touching each other. Quite often a piece of control cable's outer coating is used for the purpose.
Bolted connections
Check the tightness of the bolted connections for both the breaker itself and for the supporting structure. If any loose connections are found, tighten all the bolted connections to the right torque. Right torque values are stated in the breaker's installation manual.
1.4 Gas filling
If the breaker is not filled with gas, refer to the installation manual for the detailed instructions.
Density monitor
The alarm and blocking signals coming from the density monitor have to be checked. This is most convenient to do at the same time when the breaker is filled with gas. However if it is not done or you are not sure about it, it should be performed as a part of the commissioning works.
Mark the wires, if not done already, at the density monitor terminals and disconnect them. Remove the cable from the monitor. Remove the density monitor from the breaker. The breaker is equipped with back-flow barrier, so the monitor can be freely removed. Connect the monitor to
