Individuals today have different beliefs and/or outlooks in regards to abortions. Even though government officials have no rights to ban abortion, there is still a big controversial issue regarding this subject. Nevertheless, with being taught and brought up from different religious backgrounds and morals, an abortion affects each individual differently. Individuals today have the freedom to choose and make their own decisions; however, taking one’s life due to wrong choices and/or something out of one’s control is not morally acceptable.
An abortion is the deliberate termination of a human pregnancy, most often performed during the first 28 weeks of pregnancy (Dictionary). In other words, abortion is a process in which a human is being terminated. For this reason, it is a very controversial subject in American politics (Head). Supporters of abortion rights argue that the embryo or fetus is not a person, or at least that the government has no right to ban abortion unless it can prove that an embryo or fetus is a person (Head). I believe the government should not ban abortion; however, I do believe abortion is wrong according to the word of God. With the beliefs of Christianity, there are the Ten Commandments which are the precepts spoken by God for Israel, delivered to Moses on Mount Sinai (Dictionary). In other words, these commandments are the ten most important laws and/or rules in regards to Christianity. One of the Ten Commandments states, “Thou shalt not kill,” which…
