Is it fair that a mother can kill it’s own unborn baby with no punishment, but the second someone kills an born human being they’re punished? Abortion is the deliberate termination of a human pregnancy, most often performed during the first 28 weeks of pregnancy. “It’s said that more than 40% of all women will end pregnancy by abortion sometime in their lives” (Trupin). The big question is; should abortion be illegal? Abortion should be illegal because of the fourteenth amendment rights, there are contraceptives to prevent pregnancy, and abortion is murder. The fourteenth amendment stated that every human being has the right to life. The amendment stated that it applied to every human being. “Fourteenth Amendment rights were intended not only to ‘pertain to American citizenship but also to common humanity." (Liftenews). The fourteenth amendment also says, “All men are created equal…with certain unalienable Rights…Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness’. The 14th Amendment of the US Constitution provides that no person should be ‘deprived of life’” (Listland). When an unborn human being is aborted, it is then taken away from the rights of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, the child is deprived of life. The day mothers were allowed to kill their unborn human being, was the day that the fourteenth amendment didn’t live up to everything it states to protect the life of a human. Another reason abortion should be illegal is because there’s plenty contraceptives…
