Past, Present, and Future Paper When I was a child, I knew that I wanted to be a nurse just like my mom. I started preparing myself by majoring in science, math, and typing in high school. I knew that these classes would one day prepare me for college. When I enter college at the University of Memphis after high school, I take all the prerequisites needed for the nursing program. Later, I entered nursing school at Baptist School of Nursing and I was well on my way to becoming a nurse. When I got in nursing school, I lost focus of why I was there and failed the nursing program. When I got off of work, I went to the school and enrolled in the Business Management program. I knew that this degree would be most beneficial to me because of my management role at Super Target. I knew that this degree would strengthen my leadership ability, effective planning, communication skills, and overall work performance at Super Target. One day I hope to advance in the company by becoming an Executive Team Leader at Super Target or work for MLGW or NIKE. As I advance in my Business Management core classes at UOP, I have grown in my ability as an effective leader at Super Target. I noticed a change in my management skills. I began creating an environment that is Fast, Fun, and Friendly. I encourage, inspire, change, develop and influence team members to accomplish a goal; and have fun doing it. I execute the plan of the department by getting the team involved in the functions of the company processes and stay in compliance with the Target Brand image. I monitor performance level of the team members and set goals and objectives on how to get the job done in a timely manner. I give my team members treatment that is respectful, fair, and ethical. I teach, coach, and train team members on guest service and how to plan their work performance and give team cards when team members
