The following are risks that are determined after a new risk assessment was conducted. Coming into the project after it started led to more risk assessment then a complete metrics review.

Risks identified for Xemba Translations Telecommuters project

Risk 1
Time

Time is a risk for this project on several levels. 173 employees this will be affected as well as their customers. The company has agreed that this is a good move, however, if the process of setting up the equipment, managing the security and providing training goes on too long, then it will start to negatively affect the company over-all. Risk 3
Merger

The merger of the system is one of the most serious risk for this IT project. This risk occurs if the system that is going to be used at Xemba Translations does not fulfill the company’s needs and makes the work for employees unmanageable and the results for the customers unsuccessful.

The impact if the merger fails to meet the needs of the company is serious. Coming back from such a risk is extremely difficult if not impossible. If employees cannot work, and the customers are not getting their end product Xemba Translations will be serious damaged.

The likelihood of this risk is low because for most part, merging/integration is taken into consideration at the start of such a project.

Team member responsible will be project manager and IT team.

Strategies for prevention and mitigation at this point is to review the system and assure that this meets all the requirement that the company had intended to work at the end of the project.

Risk 4
Training Development

This risk comes from establishing changes to the systems that the organization makes over time to better the product for the clients. If the company does not change its service to meet the needs of the customers it loses business even though it offers a unique product. In the case of Xemba Translations, the risk of employees not being able to change with the new systems due to inadequate training is high. The company
