Most organizations today face tremendous challenges from external environment, including an uncertain economy, continued globalization of markets, and rapidly advancing technology. This is because it is somewhat a difficult task to handle people who are physically and psychologically detached from the organization. This throws more emphasizes on the issue of employee commitment and satisfaction on the job as critical in the success of any organization. Leadership has raised a lot of issues in the corporate world today due to its responsibility to harmonize and to integrate both human and material resources to increase productivity in organizations. According to Ngambi, Cant, & Van Heerden (2010) and Ngambi (2011), leadership is a process of influencing others commitment towards realizing their full potentials in achieving a value added, shared vision with passion and integrity. An important factor in the leadership process is the relationship that a leader has with individual followers. Employees play an important role to the growth and development of every organization. As a result it has created the need for them to receive proper guidance and direction to help achieve this purpose. According to Tighe (2014), the management of every employee largely depends on the quality of leadership within the organization. However if the appropriate leadership style is not directly linked to the employees, this can affect the productivity of the organization.
