Ethical Framework
Fall 2007 Creating and defining my own ethical framework is essential in future success as a businessman, a leader, and a team player. As a business student, I have learned that it can be a very cut throat industry and in order to get ahead, at some point and ethical dilemma will undoubtedly be an obstacle I have to overcome. The way I handle these dilemmas can make or break my career; business ethics are a key part of earning and sustaining respect, trust, and a good rapport with both clients and competitors in your industry. I Believe that any decision made as a leader should be based on the fact that the world will know you have acted this way; whether this is the case or not, as long as I keep this as a factor of my framework I will be able to explain my actions with every bit of confidence, and competence to whomever questions my judgment. This ties in with my aspect of framework dealing with lies and deceit; if when addressing my framework I realize I will have to lie or deceive in some way, it would be nearly impossible for me as a leader to be confident in describing to, or standing behind, my decision to the public.
In conclusion, I believe these factors that construct my ethical framework reflect my integrity as a leader and the qualities I value. What will be challenging in my future as a leader is my ability to strictly adhere to this framework at all times. It has been proven that in order to be a successful leader one must always be true to themselves, and thus I believe that my ethical framework, should I never stray from it, will help guide me in all future endeavors and mold my leadership
