* The Uniform Code Article 2A does to some extent applies in this case. This is basically because the article seeks to protect both the lessee and the lesser. UCC Article 2A is a proposed set of laws relating to personal property leasing and has been adopted in 47 states and the District of Columbia. All types of equipment lease used by major leasing companies’ states that it is governed by the laws of one of the states which has adopted Article 2A. Article 2A goes ahead to make many changes in existing law which are beneficial to both lesser and lessees. Essentially, these changes standardize state law so that the lesser is unable to select favorable quirks in the law of its home state and use these to their advantage in a contract. On the other hand, Article 2A does contain traps for unwary and this is where the case in point would benefit.
