American Red Cross

The American Red Cross is an independent, volunteer-led organization, financially supported by voluntary public contributions and cost-reimbursement charges. It is an organization that provides services to all humanity both nationally and internationally. The International Red Cross works along side with the Red Crescent Movement and together they are the world's largest humanitarian network, with a presence and activities in almost every country. The seven fundamental principals of the American Red Cross, Red Crescent Movement, International Red Cross, and other national societies that most be upheld and followed are:

In 2005 the organization announces a termination of its tissue program to concentrate on disaster relief.

As of today additional to the training provided by the ARC it also prints publications to assist in the safety and education of its local community.

“Together We Can Save a Life”

The American Red Cross (ARC) relies mainly on donations and charitable giving to fund its organization. There are different factors that influence the amount of donations that the ARC may receive. Economy status influences the amount of charity received. If the economy is good people are more willing to donate to charity and volunteer their time. If the economy is not doing well families have less money left over after household expenditures so they are less able to contribute to a charity. Demographically, people who attend church or are a senior member of the community are more willing to donate. Due to the recent culture shift younger people are more conscious and more willing to help their community this has caused a change in the demographics and shows younger individuals willing to give to charities as well as their time.

The ARC has an amazing network of Americans that donates their time, efforts, and blood to the organization. As for other
